Deadline exclusively reports that DC Studios, led by "Superman" director James Gunn, has begun developing a new "Constantine" movie, tapping "Evil Dead Wrath" director Francis Galluppi to write the screenplay.

Warner Bros. Pictures is set to release "Evil Dead Wrath" in North America on April 7, 2028, but the studio and DC are clearly impressed with Galluppi’s work, giving him another opportunity to tackle a major franchise project well ahead of the film’s theatrical debut.

A sequel to the 2005 movie starring Keanu Reeves was also announced several years ago, with original director Francis Lawrence and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman returning to develop the follow-up. Production has yet to begin, however, and updates have been scarce for some time. With a separate new movie now moving forward, the Reeves-led sequel appears increasingly unlikely to happen.

Netflix's reboot of "The Chronicles of Narnia," written and directed by "Barbie" filmmaker Greta Gerwig, has been in the works for years. Its first installment, "Narnia: The Magician's Nephew," finally released its first trailer last month. But Liam Neeson, who voiced Aslan in the previous film series, admitted he had no idea the reboot was happening until a reporter broke the news to him.

During a recent interview with Screen Rant, Neeson was asked whether he had seen the trailer for "Narnia: The Magician's Nephew"—only to discover that "The Chronicles of Narnia" had been rebooted.

The Screen Rant reporter noted that Neeson had voiced Aslan in "The Chronicles of Narnia" films and asked whether he had seen the trailer for the new adaptation arriving next year. Neeson apologized and admitted that this was the first he had heard of it.

The reporter clarified that he meant the new "Chronicles of Narnia."

Neeson confirmed that he did.

The reporter said he was honored to break the news, then revealed that Meryl Streep would be voicing Aslan this time.

Neeson asked in surprise whether Meryl was playing Jesus Christ—a reference to Aslan's role as a Christ figure.

The reporter confirmed that she was.

Neeson replied that if Christ was going to be portrayed as a woman, nobody was better suited than Meryl. He then asked who was directing.

The reporter named Greta Gerwig.

Neeson responded with an impressed wow and called the choice great.

Although this was Neeson's first time hearing about the reboot, he immediately praised Streep and gave her his blessing, expressing confidence that she would make an ideal Aslan.

"Narnia: The Magician's Nephew" will open in theaters on February 12, 2027, before arriving on Netflix on April 2, 2027. IMAX sneak previews will begin two days earlier on February 10. A prequel within the original book series, "The Magician's Nephew" was the sixth novel published but the earliest story chronologically. It explores the creation of Narnia, including how Aslan brought the kingdom to life and the arrival of its first king and queen.

Legendary Entertainment and Hasbro Entertainment announced last year that they were teaming up to build a live-action film and television universe based on the card game franchise "Magic: The Gathering." The companies plan to produce a series of movie and TV adaptations, with Matt Johnson, the buzzy filmmaker behind "Tony" and "Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie," set to direct the first feature.

More than a year later, the first movie's cast is finally beginning to take shape. Entertainment scooper Daniel Richtman first reported on his Patreon page that Maya Hawke had been tapped for the film's leading female role. Deadline subsequently confirmed her casting.

Deadline also reported that "Magic: The Gathering" is being developed as an ensemble film with multiple lead roles. While the other parts are expected to go through auditions, Hawke received a direct offer from the producers.

“Thank you for 40 years of shared memories. We can’t wait to create even more together with "The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel." Development is still underway, and while it will be some time before we’re ready to share more, it feels great to finally reveal the name and location to you.” Bethesda has yet to announce a release date or say when the game will next be shown.

As the long wait continues, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier wrote on Bluesky that Bethesda announced the sequel early at E3 2018 to ease concerns surrounding the multiplayer-focused "Fallout 76" and reassure players that the studio remained committed to making single-player games.

“Sorry to say, this game is still more than two years away!” Schreier wrote. Responding to a skeptical user, he added, “This is not a prediction. I know the timeframe the game is targeting.” Bethesda has not confirmed his report.

"Lords of War," the sequel to "Lord of War," is once again written and directed by original filmmaker Andrew Niccol. The film is set to hit US theaters on January 22, 2027.

The cast includes Greg Tarzan Davis, Sylvia Hoeks, Nicolas Cage returning as arms dealer Yuri Orlov, and Bill Skarsgård joining the franchise as Yuri's illegitimate son, Anton.

Synopsis: In the sequel, Yuri discovers that he has a son—and the young man is determined to surpass his father's criminal empire. Anton not only enters the arms trade but also assembles a mercenary army to exploit America's conflicts in the Middle East. "Lords of War" centers on the escalating rivalry between father and son as they battle over both their business and the same woman.

Although Hugh Jackman has yet to hang up the Adamantium claws—and rumors have long suggested he will return for more action in next month’s "Avengers: Doomsday" and late 2027’s "Avengers: Secret Wars"—audiences around the world know MARVEL will eventually have to cast a new Wolverine. That day may now be closer than ever.

In a November 3 report published on his newsletter The InSneider, entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider said Jeremy Allen White is reportedly in talks with Marvel Studios for a small role in the first movie of its X-Men reboot. The part is expected to be little more than a cameo designed to set up a much larger role down the line. Sneider strongly hinted that the character in question is Wolverine.

Additional reports soon followed, claiming White’s Wolverine would make his debut in "Avengers: Secret Wars" before appearing in a cameo in the new "X-Men."

After lying dormant for nearly eight years, "The Angry Birds Movie" franchise is finally returning this holiday season with "The Angry Birds Movie 3." The studio has now unveiled another trailer and a new key-art poster, pictured below.

The trailer’s biggest surprise is undoubtedly a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance from fellow video game icon Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic is one of SEGA’s flagship characters, while SEGA acquired Angry Birds developer Rovio three years ago. Distribution of "The Angry Birds Movie" franchise is also shifting from Sony Pictures to Paramount Pictures with this installment. Since Paramount is also behind the live-action "Sonic the Hedgehog" film series, the cameo is a natural crossover between the two video game properties.

John Rice, who co-directed the second film, returns to helm the new installment. "The Angry Birds Movie 3" opens in North American theaters on December 23.

Returning voice cast members include Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Rachel Bloom and Danny McBride. New additions include Emma Myers, Keke Palmer, Tim Robinson, Lily James, Nikki Glaser, Sam Richardson and "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" star Walker Scobell.

Arkane Lyon, the studio behind Dishonored 2 and Deathloop, currently employs 217 people.

Microsoft previously began seeking a buyer and extended the negotiation deadline from November 13, 2026, to December 13, 2026, as it looks for a partner capable of supporting the studio through the completion of Marvel's Blade. Bloomberg reported that a successful deal could allow development to continue as planned, with the game potentially launching within the next one to two years. No official release date has been announced.

Microsoft has also reshaped several other Xbox teams in recent months. Double Fine Productions, Compulsion Games and Undead Labs have transitioned to independent operations, with Undead Labs signing deals with other publishers to continue developing State of Decay 3.

Arkane Studios' other U.S.-based team, Arkane Austin, was shut down in 2024 amid Microsoft layoffs and project restructuring. The studio previously developed Prey and Redfall. The identities of the remaining bidders and the terms of their offers have not been disclosed. It also remains unclear whether Microsoft will ultimately sell Arkane Lyon—or how a new owner would handle the development and publishing of Marvel's Blade.

DC Studios co-chairman and co-CEO Peter Safran confirmed the previously reported casting during a recent interview with Collider.

“We always talk about wanting volunteers, not recruits, to be part of DC Studios. Mason wanted to be Dick Grayson, and he absolutely crushed his audition,” Safran said. He added that Thames was obsessed with the character. During a visit to the DC offices with his father, the actor eagerly tried to take photos with everything in the company’s archives.

"Dynamic Duo" will explore Dick Grayson and Jason Todd’s early years as Robin rather than their later identities as Nightwing and Red Hood. Produced with Swaybox Studios, the film combines puppetry, stop-motion animation and CGI, with real cameras used to give its action a physical quality unlike conventional animation.

Safran compared Swaybox Studios’ technological innovation to Pixar’s work on "Toy Story," adding that he could not wait for audiences to see the results.

Batman’s involvement has yet to be confirmed, while casting for Jason Todd has not been announced. "Dynamic Duo" is scheduled to hit theaters on September 22, 2028.

Dubbed the "XBOX Series X-BITE," the one-of-a-kind creation places a fully functional Xbox Series X inside a lifelike alligator. The sweepstakes for the world’s only XBOX Series X-BITE opened on November 3, 2026. While the console works, Xbox recommends treating it primarily as a display piece. Unlike a conventional limited-edition console collaboration, the system will not be mass-produced or sold at retail, leaving the winner with the sole finished model.

According to Xbox Wire, the alligator measures more than 5 feet from snout to tail. Its body features an illuminated Xbox logo, while its jaws clutch a custom Xbox Wireless Controller covered in bite marks. The creature’s eyes are finished in Xbox’s signature green, complete with X-shaped pupils.

John Nolan Studio created the elaborate build, using 3D modeling, sculpting and fabrication to reproduce the alligator’s scales and skin texture. The creature-effects studio has previously worked on Netflix’s "The Witcher," "Jurassic World Dominion" and HBO’s upcoming "Harry Potter" series. Xbox also jokingly stressed that no real alligators were used or harmed in the making of the console.

The sweepstakes closes at 11:59 p.m. PT on November 10, 2026. To enter, fans must follow Xbox’s official account on X, formerly Twitter, Instagram or TikTok; repost the designated sweepstakes post; manually add the #XbiteSweepstakes hashtag; and keep their account public. The giveaway is limited to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington, D.C., who are at least 18 years old.

Although Xbox never directly mentions "GTA VI" in its announcement, the alligator-themed console naturally evokes Leonida, the game’s Florida-inspired setting. Wetlands, coastlines and wildlife have all played a prominent role in the game’s marketing.

Rockstar Games also recently confirmed preload details for "GTA VI," revealing that the game will require up to 212GB of storage ahead of its November 19 launch. With Xbox rolling out the sweepstakes shortly before the game arrives, the eye-catching alligator console has quickly become another conversation piece. For now, however, neither Xbox nor Rockstar Games has confirmed that the XBOX Series X-BITE is an official "GTA VI" collaboration.
